Honduras Las Marias is the name of a specific lot within Finca Alto de Los Santos, a family-run farm located in Corquín, Copan, Honduras. This particular lot is managed by Iris Lorena Perdomo. The farm sits at an elevation of approximately 1,350 MASL and consists of 45 hectares, of which 18 hectares are planted with coffee, including: 5 with Catuaí, 5 with Caturra and 8 with IHCAFE90. This honey processed lot is made up of the Caturra, Catuai and IHCAFE90 varieties. In addition to coffee, Finca Alto de Los Santos has many shade, citrus and fruit trees, including: guama, cedar, mahogany, evergreens, peaches and oranges. Not only does the variety of trees offer shade, but they help attract lots of various fauna. Iris Lorena produced her first coffee many years ago with her parents, Don Herminio and Doña Maria and her grandfather, Don Froilán, all whom transmitted the spirit of coffee growing to their children. Since then, she has been part of a dedicated, passionate, coffee growing family. In addition to growing coffee, Iris Lorena also works at the CAFESCOR Cooperative where she manages the drying beds for all the specialty coffee lots that are produced throughout the harvest!
