This coffee is comprised of 290 coffee producers from the Inzá region of Colombia. in 2003, they form an associated called  Asorcafé. The region is largely inhabited by the indigenous tribe called Guanaca. Many of the Asorcafé producers are Guanaca.  Each producing member only owns around 2 hectares of coffee trees so it's important that they all work together to make this regional lot of coffee.

The coffee is grown from 1,500 - 2,100 MASL. The elevation, plus the soil from the  Puracé Volcano make for a vibrant acidity, and sugarcane sweetness.

We traveled with our importing partner, Falcon Coffees, to visit Asorcafé, and one of the producing members, Adriano Pillimué, in Inzá this past December. You can read about our trip in our Sourcing Blog.
