Jesus Maria is a small border town located high in the cliffs between Veracruz and Puebla, Mexico. 100 small-holder coffee producers contribute to this micro-region lot. They are paid a premium for growing and picking high quality coffee cherries. These producers also grow berries, apples, avocados, corn, sugarcane and potatoes, so coffee is not their only source of income. Since last year, most producers in this region have actively renewed their coffee farms with expectations of having a consistent demand for their quality coffees.
Our importing partner, Falcon has partnered with APG Specialty Coffee in Mexico to connect us with the Jesus Maria community. We are excited for the beginnings of this new coffee buying relationship, and hope that you enjoy this coffee as much as we do.
