Elvis Dávila Horna is a second generation coffee producer from the El Basal village in the Chontali district. The coffee growing areas of Chontali differ from other coffee areas in Jaen and San Ignacio, Peru in that the climate is much cooler and drier with wide biodiversity.

This Caturra coffee variety has light bronze buds that are fairly uncommon. The cherries cluster similar to a Bourbon variety, and the beans are very small and round. The farm sits at an altitude of 1,850 MASL. Elvis and his family carry out most of the harvest themselves but hire additional help during the busiest harvest days. Elvis ferments his coffee for 36 to 48 hours, since the climate is quite cool, before drying it on tarpaulin mats in the sun for 10 to 15 days, giving these beans their unique flavor profile.
